    Hello,
Can the Priv handle Quick Charge 3.0 chargers? I recently lost my QC 2.0 charger, and I am looking to replace it. I was just wondering if I would damage my Priv (and Passport) by even attempting it.
    Thanks.

The Priv is designed to use QC 2.0. You might want to check with BlackBerry to see if going to 3.0 can do harm.

Read the the big fold out paper in the box. If I remember correctly it said you could use 3.0 even though it doesn't support it...as in, it won't harm the battery.

Says here that it's perfectly backwards compatible.
"Importantly, Qualcomm has retained backwards compatibility with its 2.0 and 1.0 standards. As the power draw is handled on the smartphone side, you will safely receive the maximum amount of power for your device using any of the certified chargers."
From this article: Quick Charge 3.0 explained: what you need to know

Anyway, how big is the difference between a normal 1.5 A charger and a QC charger? Does it justify a 40 USD purchase? (I think that's around the cheapest I can find one where I live)

QC 3 is fully backwards compatible with v1 and 2. You won't get the benefit of 3, but at this point there's little point in getting a 2. It'll actually work just fine with a device that's not quick charge compatible at all.

I actually believe that most of the improvements from 2 to 3 are in efficiency, not a drastic change in charging speed.

Big difference in charging speed. My Q10 charger is 1.3 and I have a generic 1.8 and the 1.8 definitely charges faster, including my Q10

Thanks! I didn't know this. I think I will still buy the 2.0 charger since they are so inexpensive.

In Europe Priv comes with a 750 mA charger. I can't help but wonder who in his right mind would think that was enough for charging a 3410 mAh battery...

Luckily I had a 1.5 A charger from my old phone. But I'm wondering how large would the differences be if I bought one that supports Quick Charge 2.0.

I noticed a faster charge rate using a QC 2 charger vs the playbook charger I was using before. And waaaay faster than the stock included charger. My QC 3 charger also works perfectly and about the same speed as my QC 2 charger.

In short, QC 2 or 3 works great for the priv so don't worry about damaging it.

Buy the Samsung adaptive chargers for under $10 or the Aukey ones with 2 or 3 ports for under $15. They're a million times better than any of the BlackBerry ones

I have aukey 2.0, works perfect. It replaced my playbook's charger which is also fast. But the 2.0 is faster. I have all the aukey line actually.
    -wall usb turbo charger 2.0
    -battery pack of 16000mAh 2.0
    -car charger usb turbo 2.0

    I totally recommend any

In Europe, Italy, Priv comes with a 1300 mA charger, the same of Passport.
I have buyed also an Anker charger , Qualcomm Quick Charger 2.0 and it works very well.

Interesting. I bought mine in Croatia and it came with a 750 mA one, so I guessed it's the same in the whole EU.
