I think that this deserves it's own sticky as it may mean the difference between a new phone being sent back mistakenly due to a poor experience or giving the priv a decent run.

    Any way.
The blackberry specific apps that come on the device can and needs to be Updated via the google play store but unfortunately until you go and find each one manually and do the first update for each BlackBerry app individually and manually, the google play store won't recognise that they need to be updated.

Attached is the list of apps that need updating.

Let's hope that BlackBerry can fix this... it's a really silly way to misfire the user's first impression.

it has been discussed many times, you have to do it manually first time as play store won't know you have those apps on the phone if they never been installed in the first place from play store

I never really understood why everyone claims they also had to "Manually search for them"; when I opened up the Play Store they were all already in a list like that, waiting for me to update them. *shrug*

I've set up 2 brand new straight out of the box and will set up a third tomorrow. It's been the same thing for each so far

Maybe blackberry should send an email to every new buyer (don't know if they have every new buyer email) and remember them to check those app for update. They could add links to the apps.
