I've seen people on the forums here recommending ES File Explorer because the Priv has no native file explorer. Well, here goes another android app that just has to have all your data and can't behave.
DTEK will tell you all about it but unless you uninstall ES File Explorer, your taking a big risk with your data.

This applies if you installed their latest update. I didn't so I don't get any of the adware BS. Although I will uninstall just to be safe.

Read the story carefully. Older versions were found to be suspiciously phoning home. The app simply can not be trusted.

I used ES File Explorer for years, but I'll agree that at one point, the app changed, and it was no longer to my liking... Sad to hear it got worse from there. I moved to Solid Explorer, and even for the minimal cost after the evaluation period, I love it far more than any other Android file manager, and have used it for a couple years, now.

Your paying no more than $3 and the app stays for you for life. Not like it's a recurring annually fee.

Welcome to Android. This is why more developers go with iOS and Android. More $$$ while BB10 people rage over $1 purchase app.

ES file explorer had a great function where you could use the share function and save any file to SD card via ES explorer. It is a handy function and I've yet to find another app that replicates that feature.

The problem with solid explorer for me is that it doesn't have a "move" feature. Basic file manager functionality.

I checked DTEK and ES File Explorer hasn't accessed anything on my device.

i never have used ES as my everyday manager BUT some of its features are fantastic. The file share is really nice to use on occasion. I use root explorer and solid as my main file managers though

No one on BB10 cares, we have native BlackBerry Apps built in.

Then people wonder why we "delusional fan boys clinging onto the past" screamed blue murder about BlackBerry going down the Android path. We're not crazy, we just don't settle for "good enough".

Is Cut/paste not the same thing as move? I use that in solid all the time.

This is one of the reasons I'm not in a hurry to go to the Priv or Android in general. File manager is a core app to me. How much time do I really want to spend looking for a core app that doesn't betray my privacy, let alone other apps? I can do without Flappy Birds and will delete it if it tries to mine my data, but I need a reliable set of core apps.
