Yes. Passport was $599 US, and $699 CAN at launch.

Straight up currency conversion gave the $630 USD number, which translates to $815 CAD. However, LG G4 was launched at the same $3999 RMB price in China, and that launched here at $700 CAD.

So I guess it is $699 CAD. Hoping there's abundle deal during Black Friday or coupon to drop it down to $599.

EDIT. Scratch the $699. It's $799 at current exchange rates.

So if we assume the Priv launches at LG G4 price we are looking at:

    UK: 479-510
    US: $599.99
    Canada: $699
    Europe: 599-650€
    India: 44,990 INR

Phones are more expensive in China due to high consumption taxes. So I guess it would probably be 549 or 599 most in USD. However the skeptical part is that Blackberry is already out of the Chinese market, why would a price in China get leaked out?

Do we have someone from India who will say 45K is expensive? Good price point when they have S6 launching at 50K and the base iPoo launching at 54K

It's not that out of the line. LG G4 (also launched at 3999 CNY in China) has the same Snapdragon 808 3GB specs goes for $599, which likely will be the Priv's price. On top of the G4 you get a keyboard and the BlackBerry Experience Suite, and close to stock Android.

It's well worth that price if you ask me.

In tribute to the Torch II, price at launch should be 549.00.

Some people would argue that is too high. I guess when you look at building an android vs bb10 expenses they may be right.

I think they could get away with 549.00.
If they were serious they'd go 499.00.

Anything above 549-599 is just going to kill sales to the average person who can get a S6 Edge or Note Edge if they wanted to pay north of 600.

549.00 please. Or your sales will be Crackberry fans only of your sales will be 400.00 fire sales after everyone decides to wait 6 months for the price to drop.

The Priv sits somewhere (spec wise) between the S6 Edge and Edge+. They retail for $679 and $779 from TMO. Add to that the slider mechanism and keyboard.

The LG G4 is $609/$629 at Best Buy on Verizon/AT&T. Same specs minus the keyboard and curved screen.

I can't imagine the Priv going for less than $649.

    $599 would be a steal.

The only potential pressure would be coming from the Nexus 5X as far as I can see:

Snapdragon 808 with 2GB memory (vs Priv 3GB)
    16/32GB storage
    5.2" IPS 1920x1080 (vs Priv 2560x1440)
    12M/5M cameras (vs Priv 18M/5M)
    $399/$449 (vs Priv rumoured $599)

If the Priv comes with 32GB internal storage and maybe toss up an intro offer till Black Friday for $499, I can see it selling well.

With the additional ram, bigger and better edge screen, better camera, and physical keyboard, it should be worth waaay more than $50 over the Nexus.

Read: intro offer. For conquest sales during initial launch. Put it back to $599 after the first week.

Actually I take that back. Due to recent exchange rates, more like $799. Sucks to be Canadian right now.

Microsoft Lumia is $549 and that is coming to Canada at $799.

I think those are pretty reasonable prices. Most people buying a high-end phone would expect to pay those prices if not a bit more.
