More outlets have it. More competition to sell it.

once the G5, the S7 edge, the HTC M10, and phone 7 come out, the drop will be substantial.

If and when Verizon finally offers it, I can assure you that the price will be Top Dollar and won't decline for a long while. Check out the prices they still get for the Z30.

Well I never really get the cutting edge one when it comes out, Pre 3 being the exception, I got it brand spanking new before it hit the market (ba dum tss). How on earth do you think I ended up on a Classic, itself being a 3 year old phone when it was new?

So I'm fine with the Priv being a bit old by the time I get it. I'm just trying to see if the drop will be before MWC or after. If it's beginning of February I might move up my Classic's retirement, and depending if my company decides to treat me well this year.

i too am waiting for a nice deal through my employer, i've been using a Samsung Ace 2X for almost 3 years and it's nowhere near as fast as any flagship phones...so i can wait a little longer. hopefully by then BB would have fixed any hardware issues with the Priv.

ps: by the way does the Priv have the split screen function?

I still recommend Swappa.com for a cheaper Priv. Got mine for $570 shipped, including the sync pod, hard shell case, charger, and a BB car charger. One sold for Priv & charger by themselves for $530 right after I got mine.

No, no screen split mutlitasking. BB didn't add that in to their flavor of Android. You can get the added functionality through running Xposed Modules, but that requires root.

Nah, they don't even want to reimburse us for BYOD, let alone give us discounts for phones. Just seeing if they would compensate better this year...

Unlikely. ShopBB will hold on to the release pricing for the next two years ha.

It's no problem at all! Basically, rooting makes you more than a user on your phone; you turn into a "super user", A.K.A you gain Administrative powers just like on Windows. iOS has something similar called "jailbreaking" your phone. Once rooted, you can change anything you want; this can also be dangerous, because you could accidentally mess things up if you aren't sure what exactly it is you're messing with. Regardless, it doesn't matter at the moment, because there is no root available for the Priv.

Xposed is a user interface for these changes; it is just a simpler way to implement common users' desires of customization that they wish to achieve, but it often requires root to run those changes anyway. Again, none of this matters for the Priv, because we can't (currently) root.
