    Did you turn on the wipe after 10 attempts option in Settings>Security?

    I had to return my Priv and get a new one - at no cost. Seller and Rogers Tech folks could not fix the issue. Got another one but do not use the pattern password.

    I'm sure there are easier ways to do a factory reset than purposely entering the wrong pattern 10 times.

    In a situation where your phone is stolen, you "may" want the unit to auto-wipe when 10 consecutive incorrect attempts has occurred.

    On the other hand...if you left your phone at your desk at work momentarily, that's how your colleagues can mess with you.
