Just dropped into the Bell webstore and they are now showing the Priv for $0 when taken on a 2 year contract.

Yeah they just dropped prices last week, expect that the PRIV will be priced $0 on contract with most everyone soon.

Showed this to my wife and she said let's go! As an "upgrade" we get to keep the same plan ($55) and walked out of the door with a $0 Priv. Just popped the Sim out of her passport and into the Priv and good to go. Of course she now has a Passport as a backup or a switch to device if desired. That's the way to take the wife out shopping, no money spent!

Wow that's a great deal for those happy with their Bell service and don't mind signing a 2yr agreement.

I just wish the carrier versions of the Priv had wireless charging.

Well I'm paying $55 a month and that includes the 1 GB of data. Not bad for a free PRIV!

Honestly, one of the best features of the Priv is the wireless charging. The Bell version does not support it afaik.

-3 units generally just a few days to a week later that -1 unlocked, not that bad. Still faster than EMEA -4, AT&T and Verizon.

But you do get TD-LTE support instead which is useful if you travel to Asia. And I wouldn't really say it's the "best feature", the way it's implemented on the Priv having the coil offset is frustrating to use at times. To me the best implementation is still Palm Touchstone.

My friend wanted to upgrade to a Priv last night, and they refuse to do it unless she upgrades her plan to 85 dollars. From 70.

That's a goddamn rip off. It would actually be cheaper to change carriers and a buy a Priv from shop bb.

We in Canada have the most expensive cell phones and cell phone plans in the world. A study was recently done and results showed it.

Is your friends contract up? If so you can go to the MyBell website and confirm that she is allowed to keep the same rate plan.

It is up, and she isn't able to keep the same plan, that's the problem.

Both in store and even calling over the phone it forces her to changes plans.

She's probably gonna quit and go with another carrier, I mean, koodo has the Same network, with a 60 3gb plan. Why pay bell 90 for 1gb?

Check the offered rate plans, the old plan will show as incompatible but there is also a new plan that matches your old one. At least here in Manitoba. If it shows online then just do it online and get your free PRIV. Hoping for you.

There's your answer. Outside of MB and SK, things are very different. We in Ontario would walk 500 miles and walk 500 more to get those plans.

Lolz, Ontario plans start at 75 a month. Just to have access to the network.

The cheapest plan they have compared to hers is 25 more a month.

Myself and a buddy went and picked up privs yesterday. Giving blackberry one last shot. lol So far we are both really enjoying them. Im coming from an android already so it was like second nature.

I cant believe the rates you guys pay out east. The plan my wife and I use to be $65 each which includes Unlimited Nation wide calling and txt, VM, Caller ID, live TV and a couple other things and 5 gigs of data each that can also be shared. When I had to renew the contract yesterday that plan no longer exists. So we had to switch some things around to get it to the same price. So now its $50 a line for the voice and $30 for 10 gigs of data that I added to my line only but is shareable. So it worked out to the same thing basically with out spending a dollar more. The alternative was to do the $50/voice and $20/data with 6 gigs. I didn't want to spend the extra $5 bucks really since i barely ever go over 3 gigs ever but we figured it out anyways.

So far for the Bell owners who have purchased Priv's in the past, how has the software and security patch support been?

I have a few friends who really NEED WhatsApp and are on BlackBerry 10 devices. They are going to move to the Android platform and originally I was thinking that the DTEK50 would be a good upgrade. Now that the Priv is on for $0 I suspect that's the smarter play based upon specs, quality of hardware etc.

Just wondering what the thoughts were on Bell's carrier support for the Priv. Thanks!

They should just bring the charging pins back al la 9700 days! Then we can just drop it into a dock with no worries of trying to align a micro-USB port or any other charging methods
