I find that the Price gets really hot when casting to the Chrome Cast. I was just trying out some of the big screen games from Hasbro and the device got really hot to the touch on the back right side about 1 inch from the top of the device. It does the same with Kodi when streaming data but I thought it was because I was using WiFi to stream the data and then mirror my screen using WiFi. Any others have the same problem when using mirror screen or when using these Hasbro games?

Mine gets really hot as well, wonder if the chip for casting does not have a proper heat sink. I could still touch mine but it was hot.

My passport would get toasty as well doing miracast

The PRIV operating temperatures are stated to be below 35C

I have a laser thermometer, ill do a screen cast for a bit and then measure the temperature and let you know what I read on the back of the device

I find the hottest area is usually right above the volume keys on the back

Mine does the same thing. I was also playing one of those new Hasbro games, RIsk. I wasnt doing the Chromecast thing, just playing striaght from my Priv. I ended up un-installing Risk after 30 minutes. Ate up my battery pretty good.

The games are horrible on the chrome cast they are jumpy and stutter to the point of not playable, Life was like watching a move at 5 frames per second. Hasbro you have to do better then this!

I just did the casting test, I noticed it got fairly warm when searching, my max reading was 41.1C on the back of the device beside the volume keys

Once it was connected and I started to cast Netflix the temperature stabilized around 37C

Turning off screen casting and just running Vevo, I got a reading of 37.7C

At 37C it is warm to the touch but not hot by any means

From the shopblackberry site, the Priv is listed as having an operating temperature of 0-35C

You have to cast something that requires constant casting like casting your screen. If you cast something like Netflix it's not constantly casting, it just momentarily sends the Chrome Cast the info and stops talking to it. Can you try sharing your screen to your Chrome Cast?

Man that's hot, try doing a screen mirror, this forces it to be at its worst. Swipe down from the top and click Cast Screen this will mirror your screen and play a YouTube video or something

Every test I've done right now is through screen mirroring using the cast screen function

As a baseline, I left the phone sitting on a table idle for 10min and got a "cold" temperature of 32.1C

No casting, nothing running, on wifi with an ambient room temperature of 70F
