I'm thinking of getting the priv... I have a Samsung gear s smartwatch... Will it work with the priv.... I have read somewhere the priv and gear s don't work together but the gear s 2 does.... Can anyone confirm?

Gear S only works with Samsung devices officially. Gear S2 is designed to work with pretty much any Android phone.

Word of caution though with the gear S2, I've had the watch now for 4 days and noticed that the rotating bezel is now loose and rocks back and forth

I'm returning to best buy today to get a replacement

I have a gear s and it connects to priv but doesn't have much functionality. Almost useless. May look I to a gears 2 or LG urbane?

Katherine, like Blaze said the gear S does not work with any smartphone other than Samsung.

I have the gear S2 watch which is able to work with any android phone

I have not gotten the watch replaced yet as every bestbuy near me is sold out of the dark coloured watch... my wife is not pleased lol

But we did noticed a similar issue on the display watches in the stores with the bezel seeming loose and rocking... I tried googling the issue but had no luck

Yes only the new one s2 works (have it mine connected) not the first s model
But emails from hub do not get sent to the watch from what i tested ( only yesterday started to use it)

I have an LG Watch Urbane and it works great with my Priv.

No one cares about your device history.

The gear s will work with other phones besides samsung, you'll just have to download and install some apks individually. Head over to xda and search the forums.

As mentioned above, go to xda-developers.com. There is a method for using the gear s on phones other than samsung. You will need to download a zip file and install the. Apks manually.

Still not sure if emails from hub are sent to the watch, i noticed some but i am using the priv a lot and i know there is a setting to not send info to watch if using the phone
But texts, calls, whatsapp are fine
There was an update for the watch pushed by the gear manager few weeks ago which may resolve some issues

The Gear was previously synced to an S7. I have anew Priv. I dl the Samsung Gear manager app. I press "connect to Gear" but the Gear does not link / connect with the new Priv. Any ideas?

Update. I figured it out. I had to reset the Gear
