Though loving my newly acquired Priv I was shocked to receive a text from Rogers that I had used 100% of my 3 gigs of carrier data - and with another week still remaining before the data resets to zero. Upon reviewing app data usage I discovered that Blackberry Services in of itself had used 2.6 gigs with Android Services also a data hungry monster. Subsequently I have turned on background data restrictions such that updates are wi-fi only. But beware Priv users - while your newly minted machine is learning how to walk this could be a costly oversight !

Could it be the device setup and transfer was just data heavy THIS month? You had to do lots of downloading to get your info transferred to your devices especially the apps. I bet you are ok next month.

I have a feeling he was setting up his phone and possibly his emails had lots of emails (syncing 30 days or more).

Do note - thats nothing related to Priv BlackBerry Services. Your own emails are causing the data eatup

As a generally note try to do as much of the setup as possible while connected to wifi.

Probably BBM. Take a look at where the data was used. That happened to me before on the Passport when I switched phones. My BBM app used 2.1gbs of data in 4 days

To work in the business world, would you really whip out a droid? I would honestly feel embarrassed if i'm surrounded by executives and I have a droid. Business people will not take you serious. Whip out a BlackBerry device and people knows you mean business.
