AT&T had them drop some bands for their version of the Passport.... made the phone less compatible with other LTE networks.

LTE Band 13 is clearly VERIZON.
And considering they have spent the year retiring CDMA (and suppose to be completed by the end of next year)
You can bring a nonCDMA LTE phone to Verizon now, they just don't guarantee it will work everywhere. (buddy has a nonVerizon Z30 he bought from Amazon,,,, Says it works fine - BUT he never leaves Las Vegas)

I know you are not suppose to use WIKI as a source, but LTE Band 13 no matter where you look is Verizon.
Will it be on Verizon? I don't know, LTE Band 13 is used in other countries as well.

No they aren't selling non CDMA phones for their network yet. So far they only have about 4% of their customers using VoLTE.... I doubt if by the end of next year they'll be selling CDMAless phones.


And the article about the A9..... that left a lot of questions of coverage and activation. Same coverage as 2G???

I don't think so -- shopblackberry is likely to have and sell only the -1 variant.

Unless I'm missing something I want the -3, if for no other reason than it has band 13, which means that in the future when Verizon goes full-on LTE (no CDMA required) I can use their prepaid service if I'd like.

According to the Model Number thread, the models for Verizon and Sprint are STV100-2 and STV100-5, respectively.

But not confirmed.

It would not surprise me that the GSM model(s) get passed-through certification first, that's usually the way it happens. The market for GSM is way larger than for CDMA.

This actually makes sense. On the thread it says 3 is the TD-LTE model for China Mobile, that explains the TD-LTE 38 and 40. If this is the APAC model, I might get it from Hong Kong.
