Hi all...has anyone figured out how to (or is it possible) to set the calendar app to show the actual date while sitting in the app tray (not opened)???

Not a huge deal, ( it is actually, the little BB10 nuggets matter)....just thought I'd ask.

    Thx in advance.

you've been made privy to my thoughts.

No . Not possible for now. Maybe in a future update of the BlackBerry calendar app?

Like someone else said, not currently possible with Andriod BB Calendar app.

PS I made the thread title a bit more descriptive too.

If you use an alternate Launcher that allows icon customization (like Nova), the latest Moko icon pack update included an updating date icon for the BlackBerry Calendar. So nice to see again, though I've personally moved on to use aCalendar on my PRIV. I prefer its calendar layout vs the BlackBerry Calendar, plus you can upgrade to a dark theme. My favorite Calendar ever was from my Z30, but had to move on...

I have it working but I am using

    1. Nova launcher
    2. Icon pack that supports dynamic icons
    3. Google calendar installed also (it's mirroring what is in my BlackBerry calendar but I don't really use it. It "feeds" my launcher and icon pack)

This is great (the new widget).
Pity I still cannot crate events for my Google apps account in the BlackBerry Calendar app!
    Any solution for this?

We verizon users are missing out on a lot of great new features because of their slow release of mm.

Haha I get paid bi-weekly, 31 means nothing to me... The updating icon reminds me of calendar on BB10 and Legacy devices and THAT's why I like the functionality

You looked in the widget drawer in the all items tray? It's a 1x1 widget just called calendar at the moment. I think it needs a better name...

    This ^^^

Fastest way to access it on the Priv is:

-From the home screen, press and hold your finger down on a blank spot
-This brings up a menu at the bottom to choose from, select 'Widgets'
-Find the one called 1x1 Calendar Widget
-Drag and drop it where you want it
-If desired, do as I did and remove the stock icon while enjoying the new date showing widget as a replacement!

Don't hold your hopes up for it to operate like BB10/webOS. They don't have control over the overall system. In the current beta they added an icon widget you can put on the home screen to simulate a dynamic icon, but not for the app drawer.

I take it that you need MM to get the 1x1 widget. The only calendar widget that I have on Lollipop is 3x3.
