I have researched how to find the build date on the box of a PRIV, however, I had to get a certified refurbished from AT&T when my volume up button stopped working. Is there anyway to tell the build date without the original box?

Even with the box there is no way to tell the build date. The box only gives you the BOXING date, which can be months or even years after the device was manufactured.
