I have a Z10 which works great, but I have been experiencing on the Priv on Verizon. I believe I read that BBM video / voice doesn't work on the Priv - right? If not, this is a Bummer since I travel internationally and BBM is a great easy way to keep in touch with family.
I had an idea: could I use the Z10 and connect to WiFi to use BBM or will it not work if I take it off my phone account? Has anyone heard if there are plans for the Priv to get full BBM capability?

BBM video doesn't exist on the Priv.

I don't think BBM video will ever come to Android or iOS. BBM voice works though.

You can use Hangouts or Skype for video calls. BlackBerry probably doesn't want to spend all of the money it takes for the servers to host a video service.

Zoom is also a good option for video calling.

Zoom is a descent work around and is the same technology that bbm meetings used. I would prefer video be integrated into bbm but who knows if that is ever going to happen.

I have used Zoom a few times and it is easy to use.

Zoom was the Platform that BBM meetings leveraged.
By the way I have a Z10 that I don't have on a carrier line and we use it all the time on wifi. So if I go somewhere where roaming is too expensive for my tastes then BBM video over wifi works great to keep in touch with the family.

As the OP needs a replacement for BBM video, for use with BlackBerry 10 users, Hangouts is not an option. The other options are not junk, either.

You may not like either, but that's your personal preference only.
