If it was $399 in the US anyone buying it in the UK would import it from the US instead and pay the import taxes, it'd be worth it.

First pricing will vary largely between countries. Compare the price of Samsung phones in UK with the US and you'll notice a big difference.

Also remember that prices in UK include sales taxes... Not included in America.

GBP 579.99 is inclusive of VAT (20%) imposed in the U.K., I suppose.

GBP 483.33 (equivalent to USD 750) appears to be the price NET of such VAT.
