    I was just thinking that although we've been seeing the device run Android in the leaked photos, it might not be a real indication of what the final device will be running.

    A few thoughts behind why we don't see these beta devices running BlackBerry 10:

    - OS 10.4 might be nowhere near ready to deploy on a test device (assuming that's what they're hoping to release with this device), so they slapped on Android;

    - To throw people off who spot the device in the outside world (they'd just assume it's one of the myriad other Android devices out there), especially since it resembles the Edge;

    - These devices are for strictly stress-testing to ensure that sliding mechanism and keyboard can survive real-life and constant use;

    - Might be a risk-mitigation strategy to avoid leaking both OS 10.4 features AND new device features;

    - Might be a "two birds, one stone" testing device -- testing the new security layer of Android being built with Samsung as well as the new device;

    Thoughts?

    All this is getting "funny" just wait a few months and u will get the final picture. I think that even by the end of September we will have a good clue of slider OS and most of the details

    In the other thread a dev just posted that 10.3.3 is out for devs behind an NDA so 10.4 will not be coming to the slider, I think. Else devs would've also got 10.4 in order to test their apps before the slider release (which *could* be as soon as next month at IFA Berlin).

    10.4 isn't coming. They stopped developing for BlackBerry 10 OS. To move forward, BlackBerry OS needs Qt5 and BlackBerry has admitted that they are no longer supporting Qt5 which means the end of the line for BlackBerry 10 development.

    Also I don't think that 10.3.3 is being under NDA because I have some BlackBerry elites friends who would say me about that.

    You seem to be going out of your way to spread the word about bb10 being dead ,although your argument makes sense nobody knows what blackberry is planning to do yet, also they clearly stated that they are working on 10.3.3 a while ago,i have a hard time believing that is only a "patch" work like you said,let's just be patient and wait, if your right you're right but don't think you are.

    BlackBerry 10 development is in bad shape. Almost 50% of BB10 dev team has been fired by Chen.

    Yes we do know what BlackBerry is planning. They have laid off BlackBerry 10 development staff. They stopped future development of newer versions of Qt. They stopped posting about native BlackBerry development. They have published no new APIs in 9 months. They stopped posting a road map so developers know that there is a future of BlackBerry 10 programming. There is so much that they are not doing, so we know what they are planning. Stopping future development of BlackBerry 10 in terms of new features.

    You cannot do that in the IT world. This is a death sentence. Knowing that BlackBerry 10 won't be supporting Qt5 shows that it has no future.

    You know that you can't even make good graphs in native BlackBerry 10. There is so much missing that needs to be added and that isn't going to happen.

    Nobody has 10.3.3. Period full stop. Anyone who says otherwise is spinning tales. No one has a roadmap showing 10.3.3 or its APIs no one. Period full stop. There is really no need to continue to litter the forums with this nonsense. Especially since at least one person on the Mobile Nations staff is aware of this.

    10.4? really? 10.4? SMH.

    And sorry OP - but I'm sure you are a very nice person, but you are acting a bit nave. There are lots of reasons you might find a naked man in your bed with your wife, but the most obvious, will almost always be correct.

    If Slider is coming by Sep (IFA Berlin rumor) or Nov, IMO dev should have SDK to test their apps by now. If not, something is definitely missing.

    LOL. I think my wife may have just been trying to make me jealous.

    To the OP, another possibility to cling to is that the BB10 version of the Slider is already finished and is running perfectly so they are only testing the Android versions out in the field.

    As for hiding the devices by running Android, wouldn't it just be easier to remove the "BlackBerry" label from the device? A couple of the people who have used the slider say that the announcement will be at IFA in Berlin so that's only about three weeks away. We'll know soon enough.

    Well we already know that BlackBerry 10 OS doesn't have a future. It will be steady as you go, not keep on moving. When 10.3.3 is released, what ever that has will be the end.

    Let's hope so. Like I said earler: my mum and I are both regular phone users. She had a Z30, she now has a Passport she loves. And I'm waiting for the slider. If the slider is gonna run BB10 then the slider's gonna be my first BB ever! So let's hope we'll get BB10 on it and more information about BB10 at IFA.
