I don't know about the Priv, but on my phone, I can go to settings, sounds and notifications and turn the volume all the way off for notifications. Ringtone for phone will still be on

one thing i miss from bb10 is the sound profiles. i hope they can bring something like this over to android.

Try going to Settings, Sound & notification, Interruptions; in "When calls and notifications arrive" select "Allow only priority interruptions", and turn on "Calls" in the Priority interruptions list.

There is no automatic way like on BB 10 but there is a round about way.

Go to Settings>Sounds and Notifications>Do Not Disturb>Priority Only Allows

Set these preferences as you like, but under'"Calls" change it to either "Calls from Contacts, Calls from anyone, or Calls From starred contacts", whichever you prefer.

Once that is done, from the home screen, open the drag down menu so you see the icons for wifi, Bluetooth, flashlight, etc. Hit "do not disturb mode".

A window will come up. There will be 3 tabs: Total Silence, Alarms only, priority only.

Hit "priority only"'to activate the settings you made.

This is a bit of a pain, but you only need to do it once.

Now you will get your ringtone for calls, and nothing for texts or notifications.
