BlackBerry claims to have not used it because it really isn't secure. I suspect they couldn't figure where to put one.
But they really aren't that secure, and can't be changed, (though most of us do have 10 options available, some of those might be awkward to use).

Even though Apple deployed the first one, they had the more secure implementation, most of the Android copycats cut corners. (It hurts to admit this)

I will say the convenience is pretty awesome. On my Nexus 5X I never see the lock screen any more. Device is unlocked when I pull it out my pocket before I lay my eyes on it, just by placing the finger on the sensor.

Nope, doesn't bother me in the least...have it on my Note 7 & Nexus 6p but never use it.
