I get daily emails from work that include a name address and phone number.
The number has always been a blue link and tapping would open phone app.
Up until yesterday, tapping the address would give me the option to launch Google maps or zillow. This is a Very useful feature for me.
But now.. When I tap anywhere on an open email that contains a phone number it launches the phone dialer...
Didn't download anything new. Didnt change any default apps. Don't have any idea what caused or how to fix this issue.

Can you try with an older email that worked as expected?

    Just tried. Same problem.
Nothing has changed in the format or display of the email. Just the action when I tap it.
Also, I just noticed that I can't open attachments either. I have to go through chrome to download them then open with the appropriate app.

OK. so that rules out any possibility of the new emails having an unnoticeable format change. Try to uninstall the hub, then install it again AFTER a reboot.
    Good luck

Marshmallow by default tries to integrate apps more closely, for a smoother experience.

If you click a phone number, why would you not call it?

Yes I understand you might not want to, but you just have to get used to the beast that is Android.

All that being said, try clearing your app defaults, and you might get a prompt asking you again. Although with a phone number, maybe not.

You didn't read my first post correctly. Maybe it wasn't clear...

    Last week...
    Tapping phone number opened dialer
Tapping address opened maps or zillow (as long as I don't assign one as default I always get the option)

    Today...
Tapping anywhere in an open email opens dialer. I can't even select and copy text unless I hit reply or forward first.

This is a bug, not a user error such as accidently assigning a default app.

But I do appreciate your attempt at help.

Can you share a screen capture of one of the emails in question? Just tried myself and couldn't get it to happen. Trying to see where exactly it appears.

    Just so we are clear...
-tapping on the phone number works as expected
-tapping on the email address works as expected

-my issue is with tapping on the address to open maps or trying to select text.
Tapping anywhere in the email (besides the email address) opens the phone app, as if I had tapped the phone number.
