    I thought the Priv supported micro HDMI or is it a different cable from the one that works with the PlayBook

    It's different.

    You need a SlimPort adapter that allows you to connect an HDMI / VGA cable to your phone

    FYI I have a Slim Port cable and it works very well. Be sure you buy a standard HDMI cable as well.
