I opened up the Play Store yesterday, selected Update All and set the phone down for a half hour or so. There were maybe 12 apps to update, mostly system and built-in apps. When I returned to my Priv, it was completely unresponsive. I did a hard reset (held power button until the BlackBerry logo appeared), and now the device won't boot. It just goes to the spinning circle, square and triangle. It has been doing that for about 24 hours.

Has anyone else experienced this? I tried holding the power and volume up/down buttons for 30 seconds. The only thing that happened was the LED flashed red, green and blue in succession over and over until I did another reset. It still doesn't boot. Is there a way to do a factory reset?

Thankfully, it's not being used as a primary device. I just use it for social media, some smart home apps, and other miscellaneous apps.

Hold down power button for at least 32 seconds time it.

I read that thread. That is NOT the same issue I have. His phone won't even turn on. My phone turns on, but it won't BOOT.

Has anybody else had this issue after OTA updates?

The autoloader worked. Now, to spend the next few days re-customizing everything...

I wish we still had BlackBerry Protect with backup feature. It would ideally backup all device settings including data and application preferences.

There is a native backup service that uses Google's cloud infrastructure for third party apps, but that requires the app developers to incorporate the support for it.

For sure. At least Google keeps track of what I had installed, so I didn't have to try to remember what to re-install.

If this hadn't worked, I was just going to throw it away and get a Galaxy Tab or something like that.
