STV100-2...is this the latest model/series and is it carrier specific? Do different carriers have more recent builds/models? Just curious as to what this means...thank you!

That is a Verizon BlackBerry PRIV.

STV100 is the PRIV model number and the -2 means it is the Verizon variant

And of special note it is locked to Verizon as far as updates go (and they don't go well)... it isn't locked to their network other than the frequencies it supports.
