When you unlock it... does it enable additional options in the cellular menu? For example, can you turn off LTE now?

    Just curious.

well, basically went in at 0930 am and they opened the shipment, there it was... would not sell without a contract , but i did it this way, unlocked and then put my sim in from Bell.... cost me only my time, because i cancelled contract and paid out the phone, ended up paying $683....

How does that work? You got it for less than what they're selling for which is $799???

You buy it on contract, pay the down payment, and then cancel the contract. You get charged the ETF but the phone is yours.

If the carrier is dumb enough to make this arbitrage profitable, that's on them.

That can't be right can it? Normally carriers offer anywhere between a 15-30 money back guarantee but in that case you would have to return the phone

Coordinate with someone who has an account with the carrier.

You have two choices, first you get your self a repaid card and you go and you get the phone from them, will cost you extra 35- 50 bucks. Second option is to sign a contract, this will cost the initial price of the phone plus cancellation fee. I don't know how much to be exact. But it's a long hassle if you ask me. I don't know how he managed to get it for 680. Maybe it worth a shot I don't know.

Well let us do the math, the phone is 399 plus tax, you need a sim card and activation for new 24 months contract that's another 25 bucks. . Then you need to call and cancel the contract that's 480 plus tax. That's with tax 1021 and the phone is still needs to be unlocked. No support from Rogers or BlackBerry and slow updates. So it's totally not worth it and better buy it from shop BlackBerry.
