The iphone adds it's own post processing. Perhaps if you adjust the brightness /contrast of the picture after taking it, it would look decent.

The iphone 4 picture barely looks like anything... my motorola KRZR took better pics lol

This is old news. Look, to have a slider, there's only so much room/depth for the camera.

I wouldn't be surprised if the Vienna has a better front cam. You know what? I'd be OK with that.

Not sure about that iPhone 4 being better man. I think the problem is not the camera but the subject.

Perhaps you can click on yourself and focus and the Priv will white balance better. Priv does have adjustments so you could have done this before taking the picture.

Since 2013, when I first got a phone with a front facing camera, I have taken at most 50 pictures with it.

Then again, I do not have instagram nor use my Facebook account, so I have no need for self taken pictures... except the rare occasion when my mother (who lives in a different country) begs me for a picture, like after I get a haircut.

Therefore, for my use, even a 1 MP front facing camera would be enough... the 18 MP rear one, though, I do use a lot.

Pretty much the only use I give to the front facing camera is as a mirror to check if I have pizza sauce left on my mustache or beard after eating a slice on the street.

Is it the best camera? Nope. Could have been better? It could have, but spacing as mentioned was likely the issue. What's the immediate solution? Turn on the lights, it's the 21st century lol.

I really don't think a front facing camera is that big of a deal outside of women taking selfies with them. Could the Priv's be better, sure, but I've never nor have I ever known anyone who purchased a phone because of the quality of the front facing camera. Its just something to complain about with the Priv.
