Seems a bit better....maybe... but not groundbreaking. Priv still laggy. I have given up on hoping the Priv will be speedy... hence my hope that Nougat arrives and helps.
There must be some app causing this. How many and what types of Apps do you use?
Please don't tell me a virus scan or some optimization app.

I have lots of apps, but no virus or optimization apps. Look, the Priv is not grinding slow, it's just so much slower than the Pixel, Samsungs or other Android devices that I've used. Seems to struggle to do basic things.

I don't blame ya. I've had this one direct from blackberry for 1 week and is a total let down it spends seventy percent of the time in my hands just waiting to process a request.... Ie bought zero except Blackberry for 15 years this is even worse than the others... after key one that's it for me... right now I've a marshmallow Priv

Could some smartie (conite, thurask, bla1ze) not write a little app to clear the cache daily and nothing else...?

I haven't noticed any lag issues that make me want to smash my PRIV. It's fine and does what I need it to do.

You may want to consider drinking decaffinated coffee.

Haven't read this whole thread but have the people who are having these lag issues tried to wipe their device and start fresh?

You don't want to though. The cache is very useful until it suddenly isn't.

About once a week is about right.

Bla1ze suggested a cleaner app that actually works called SD Maid.

Where did bla1ze say that? I thought the BlackBerry official line was no cleaner is needed.

I must admit, I was going pretty nuts over iheart radio app and how it was behaving and I immediately thought it was priv, but I reverted back to a previous version I realized it was the app totally and now have zero issues. When you get a version of an app that you like make a back up with apk extractor. If I remember right it's free on playstore.

Or just find all previous app versions on Apkmirror.

Just be patient, the Nougat will solve most (if not all) your problems and bring a more optimised performance on your PRIV. Just wait.

I truly don't understand what is going on. I was running a gps app, the camera and checking and reading email in the Hub today. Accuweather runs in the background and it was paired and communicating with my new Samsung Gear S3. There was also a pedometer app running. I did not notice any lag and it did not take seconds to accomplish anything.

My cached data was only 4.1 gb, haha. It's not as laggy after I cleared it.

Sorry, I don't understand your point.
You said KeyOne lightening fast compared to the priv. because it manages cache much better. I'm just making the point that the priv can run just as fast since the 625 is about as powerfull as the 808. So the priv with the 7.0 build that KeyOne has should in theory be just as fast.

And that's why many people here want 7.0 including me. I have too much slow downs with my priv, I'm hopping 7.0 gives it a refresh in performance

No. I said Android stays quick if caches are managed properly. That would apply to Priv and KEYone.

    Settings, storage, internal, cached data.

Also, change animations to 0.5x in developer settings.

    Then reboot.
Thanks, I'm going to try the cache thing. I'm 6 months in on my PRIV and I've noticed slowdowns lately.

The animations worked good for a while, but now it just takes a few seconds to even respond.

    See post number 4 above.

Caches are good things, until inevitably something gets corrupted or they become too large. I usually clear them out when they go above 800 megabytes, or at least once a week.
Wow really?? Mine was at 4.5 GB. I hadn't ever cleared it out. Let's see what difference this makes.
