This morning I noticed that a portion of my Privs screen is darker. As it turns out, the area is exactly the same size as my flip case's quick glance window... I tried messing with the display settings, switched adaptive brightness on/off etc., removed the case, to no avail. I even wiped the device with an autoloader, the darker box is still there. The phone is barely 3 weeks old and I put on the case last week, and only noticed this stuff today.

I don't even get that how this could be a burn-in, since it's an amoled panel and when the flip case is closed, it only switches on those pixels a few times.

Any ideas?

AMOLED screens can and will 'burn in'. Given the age of your phone, I'd say a defective screen.
Do you carry the phone in a pocket, or other dark place where it gets moved around or jostled? That can cause the magnet to move and turn phone on and off. If brightness is up and or adaptive brightness is on, and it's dark, well, you know what happens.

There are even apps that claim to 'fix' burn in.

Given the age of your device, (or lack of) I'd return it.

Yea, it might be a magnet-pocket issue. A youtube-loop seems to have fixed it, I'll watch out in the future.
