When the slider was first shown at MWC it appeared to have a BB10 all touch home screen. And was reported by CB as the BlackBerry 10 Slider.

Obviously that never happened and this question is pretty much irrelevant but do you think there ever was a BB10 version and because of costs or technical issues or just going all in with Android it was cancelled or do you think those 2 phones shown where just running Android with a BB10 screen shot shown?

The shots to me look somewhat strange and I figure there never was a BB10 version.

They were dummy units with a backlit static image.

I'm sure there is bb10 slider unit test (prototype) but that's it never seen the light...

So you think that there is at least one unit out there with the chipset driver for BB10? I, personally doubt it but who knows.

I doubt that BlackBerry ever got anywhere past the "dummy with a sticker on it" phase.

I wonder where that dummy unit is now. They should put it up on eBay. I wonder how much someone would pay for a backlit piece of cellophane? I'd like to know who made the prop? Would be a neat job. Like a prop maker for a sci-fi series.

There were plenty of things wrong with it that should've been obvious from day one. First, the display was obviously not real as the icons had no color. He had his thumb pressed to the middle of the screen - Who shows a smart phone that way? The light comes on when the keyboard is open and shuts off when the keyboard is closed which doesn't make any sense. When you show the device for 5 seconds and don't let anybody come within 20 feet of it, you are really telling people it's not working.

Still, it allowed people to let their imaginations run wild thinking that if there's a working prototype then it should be released within a few months. LOL

Yea I get the impression now that there never was any intention of having BB10 on it at these most likely didn't have it either.

He said that he didn't want to pay for 808 drivers, although they could have produced a Frankenstein unit using the Passport's 801.

That said, I see no indication any working BB10 model was ever produced.

It did appear that they used a Passport for some early testing though.
