The phone handles charging, you can leave it on charge 24/7 if you want, won't hurt a thing. It controls how much voltage and current and even monitors battery temp. Shuts off when fully charged, starts at the correct level when it discharges. Ect, etc

The charging circuits are designed to handle all aspects of charging and so don't worry about extra hours on the charger. Sleep well!

i don't just because the QC is plenty fast, usually when i wake up i plug it in and by the time i'm ready to leave it's 100% percent. with my usage when i get home, i still have plenty to get me through the night on most days.

Doesn't the QC harm the battery cells more than normal charging?

I use the normal charger when charging my Priv overnight and my Quick Charger if I need more juice during the day.

You should be fine if you use either one to charge your device overnight.

Yes, but it's very slight, if you plan on keeping phone for 4 or 5 years, and use it heavily, you might want to avoid QC.
If you are like most of us and get a new device every 2 to 3 years, don't worry about.
All the fast charge technologies monitor the batteries current state of charge, internal resistance, current battery voltage and battery internal temperature. Charge current and voltage is adjusted accordingly.Thats why they are called smart chargers. The batteries used in smart charge devices are also optimized to accept this with minimal degradation.
Note too that the various quick chargers will act pretty much like a normal charger at and above above about 70% charge. This is why a quick charge isn't much, if any faster for 'topping off' a battery that is already around 3/4 full. This is also why it's completely safe to leave a device on a quick charger for extended periods of time.

Same here. Charge it overnight so I am ready to roll in the morning. Then sometime around three I give it a boost to make sure it lasts till 11pm. My day starts at 6:30am and I use my Priv a lot.

While I also charge mine overnight like all my phones before without experiencing any issues, I did note this on the BlackBerry site when I just got the PRIV and was reading up on it:

    Keeping your battery charged
Your device uses a lithium-ion battery. To maximize your use of this type of battery, when possible, do the following:

Avoid using your device while it's charging to help it charge faster.
Do not leave your device plugged into a charger after it has reached a full charge.
Avoid charging, using, or storing your device in extremely hot or cold places, such as on a vehicle dashboard.
Avoid leaving your device turned off for an extended periods when the battery power level is low. If you plan to store your device for an extended period, partially charge the battery and put the device in a cool, dry place.

Only when I am traveling and I return late to my hotel room.
Otherwise I charge it just before I go to to bed.

Always overnight on the 1.3A stock Priv charger and dock. I top it up with QC quick charge during the day if needed.
