Random colours for the contacts, can this be changed? At first I thought oh cool they are colored per account they are sync'd on but no I have random colours. Is there away to set a default colour?

Ps colour does have a 'u' 😁

i haven't found a way to change the colors. Am going to research that right now using Google. Will keep you posted.

PS the u in colour is the British/French/Canadian way to spell it i believe

PPS Seems the colors are generated randomly. I guess the way around is to create a photo to be used as the contact picture.

Yes, it seems the colors can be assigned to specific email accounts. But all of my contacts are from Gmail and they have an assortment of colors. And the few that have pictures assigned to them (not anything I did - just happened over the years) seem colorless.

And all of my COLORS are "u-less!"

Example:

String name = "Harish";
int colors[] = new int[] { Color.RED, Color.GREEN, Color.BLUE};

int chosenColor = colors[name.hashCode() % colors.length];

It uses the hashcode of the Contact name string to determine the color, at least for BB local contacts - so just rename your child if you think the color is ugly

"Test" is always dark blue, "BB" is always orange

Great question. Enigma of android . Never seen something like this on BlackBerry 10. Experts on the forum will have a solution to this .
