I just got done playing with an AT&T Priv in store. It was running slow after startup due to the number of apps in the background.

I took a look at what was installed vs download & was surprised at the bloat I saw. Uber, yahoo, various AT&T apps, etc etc. The problem is you have to disable the bloat to improve the phone.

So as a service to those of us who haven't decided on a Priv model or carrier yet, I thought it would be nice to start a list to reference.

Please post your carrier, the model type, and what bloatware you find. Maybe add to the list if you can disable or uninstall the offending apps.

If your Priv came straight from BlackBerry unlocked, I'd be interested in seeing what apps it comes preloaded with as well.

    Thanks

Can you not simply uninstall any carrier added apps?

I believe some you can and some you can't.

Although you can disable them all using ADB so they do not run.

Look up Snazzy Labs on YouTube he made a video about it recently.

I don't think you can uninstall them, but you can disable them. My AT&T Priv came loaded with a bunch of junk from them and if you try to delete it says you can disable instead of uninstall like it does other apps.

I forgot.... you can't root the PRIV, so I guess no you can't remove carrier apps.

Now some you can remove if you go to the Play Store and then to My Apps and delete them from there. They do the auto-update and they will be removed. But that doesn't work on all of them.

That's why I'm looking to start these lists. Some carriers list bloatware as a system app. It helps to know how much bloat we're dealing with, especially since superuser access is going to get difficult on this device. No superuser = no bloatware removal. Disable becomes your only option.

I've also disabled all the Google Apps I don't use.

    Docs
    Drive
    Music

Thank you. Looks like 14 pieces of bloat for AT&T. Any other apps that you didn't disable, but were installed from the start?
