Was really hoping to see it announced today along with new Nexus devices. The Priv will be DOA if it's up to just BlackBerry and their non existing marketing team. They need as much help as possible in releasing this device so I hope they have 110% commitment and support from carriers. Also with Marshmallow being announced today and rolling out next week they better outline the update time line or it will be outdated the moment it hits the shelves. Come on BlackBerry this is your last hail Mary! Marshmallow actually has me intrigued with the improved security and app permissions but the Priv will be a no go unless it gets the update in a reasonable time-frame.

Why would Google announce a BlackBerry phone?

Just because the PRIV by BlackBerry is running "google" doesn't necessarily mean they have to announce it---lol

Google's got their own hardware to worry about, they're not about to do BlackBerry's job for them.

You guys have a very good point however was hoping their partnership would yield some benefits for BlackBerry.

Wait for another month or so until the Priv is actually released.

The one thing we do consistently on CB is overreach with "partnerships." Amazon, Samsung, Google...

That partnership was regarding BES12. It had nothing to do with Priv and they're certainly not going to hock BBRY phones at the same event where they've just released their own flagships.

As I stated earlier. BlackBerry is focusing a lot on partnerships and has stated many times Google has helped make this device possible. Would have been nice to see this device announced with some Google publicity.

Kk fair enough stupid idea. More waiting I guess. Do you guys think BlackBerry will have a separate event that we don't yet know about?
