    I like many others bought the unlocked AT&T version of the PRIV.
    I'm wondering if I can get it switch to the factory unlocked one straight from BlackBerry using the BlackBerry Protection Plan or even warranty?!

    I believe you'll find that the Protection Plan replaces the damaged device with the same model.

    Protection plan, I suspect Ecm is correct

    You have 30 days or less to sign up after purchase / activation. Otherwise it is too late.
