Heard a contest on the radio recently that asked listeners to text a word to a five digit number. My AT&T iPhone worked fine, but on my Verizon Blackberry Priv, I got no response. I wrote it off to an issue between Verizon and the contest owner. But then yesterday, I tried to text to Twitter at 40404 and again, no response. This used to work fine on my old Samsung phone.) I was using Textra so I switched to the Messages+ app and got similar results. The message was stuck with a "sending" status.

I called Verizion to see if I had missed a setting. They were helpful and found a "known issue" with the Priv not being able to text to a CSC (Common Short Code). Verizon said they were waiting on an update from Blackberry to fix the issue.

I was wondering if this was limited to the Verizon flavor of the Priv, or is this true for any Priv?

It's a known issue with Verizon atleast. Supposedly will be fixed on the next security update, which for Verizon customers "coming soon" http://forums.crackberry.com/showthread.php?t=1065418

I couldn't send a text for my banking app the other day. Good thing it gave me the option of having them call me instead. I love this Priv but very disappointed that I don't have Visual Voice-mail on Verizon or the option for short texts.
