What does this mean? And why would they not continue support for this phone?

Nexus 6P, Nexus 6 and BlackBerry Priv reach End of Life status at Telus

I hope to find discounted phones to buy as a backup if this one fails as I find it quite good for my needs.

It sounds like they will just not be selling it anymore.

Noticed the other day that some UK sellers are no longer selling the Priv. Shown as "Discontinued" on Clove's website & "Error 404" on the Carphone Warehouse site, although CPW do still have it on display in store. (Still for sale at Shop BlackBerry for £425!)

The Priv just disappeared off of AT&T's site several months ago.

I am a bit surprised Verizon is still selling it. But, they did roll out a security update on time this month, so maybe that is a good sign.

Hopefully Verizon doesn't stop the sale of the PRIV. If they do I'll have to pick one up as a spare.

They are just stopping sale of it, which makes sense for an old device over 1 year.

The title is click baity though.

Yep. About two months ago AT&T dropped the Priv.

No more unit sales and warranty replacement means you'll be offered a different device. Keep your PRIV safe people!

End of life and end of support are 2 different things. You should only really be worried about end of support, for the most part.

Regardless, it's not like carriers offer much in the support category any longer . I'm really hoping that TCL is building their relationships with Canadian carriers given we are a couple weeks away from the Mercury Event
