Did you try cleaning the lens with a microfiber cloth? The camera lens tends to pickup oils from hands and surfaces especially since on the Priv it protrudes from the rear a bit.

With my Z30, I got into the habit of wiping the lens each time I took a picture. The dust/grim haze would really mess up photos. I tucked a small micro fiber cloth into the case.

Depends what you are coming from on the camera. It can take really good and really bad pictures. It's not bad at all, but pretty far behind the competition overall imo. It's slow and takes some effort for great pictures, but can be done. Front camera sucks.

It's funny how everyone claims that the camera works just fine, when any mediocre phone cam works fine under THOSE lighting conditions. If there's light, there will be great photos. However, how much light get let through is the big issue, among other things such as noise reduction, color dynamics, etc. However, the PRIV's camera does not outperform any phone that costs <$400 USD, which is why people complain.

    Just sayin'.
    very true good point

Do you actually own a Priv? cause if you did, you would know the Priv takes great pics in low light.

Ah, yes, quoting an eminent source, me...

Here's why I started to look at the lens before taking a picture. I was sitting out in the yard last summer and snapped a picture. I thought it looked awful. It was awful. I looked at the Z30's lens and it was hazed over. I cleaned it quickly and snapped the same picture again. Notice the difference.

HDR is only useful in certain circumstances, I wouldn't rely too heavily on it if I were you. If the pictures are coming out blurry, you should try raising the ISO setting.

I've always had problems with BlackBerry cameras when taking photos at runway fashion shows, the spotlight always ruin the images even after trying out different settings...but when I see quick snaps from an Android and Apple phones (also at runway shows), they look much better no doubt. I currently have a Passport and very interested in switching to Priv for the camera as one of the main reasons.

We had a competition with different phone cameras. I had my Priv, and I do know that one was a iPhone 6s plus and there was a galaxy s6, HTC, and others. We took a picture of a display at a bar. Everyone agreed that the Priv won hands down. When we zoomed in you could see the details in the etched glass of the bottles. A great camera.

I love the Camera on the Priv but i hate the Aps and lack of good Edit like i had on BB 10. Any Idea if and when BB will bring over the rest of the Excellent Camera Features and Edit like we have in BB 10. Time ****, The Built in Editor for minor Edits and Contrast is excellant in BB 10.. I really miss that.
