    This has been asked many times and I'm still confused, can someone clarify..... if I pay off my att lock priv and I unlock it, will I receive updates direct from blackberry if I switch to cricket wireless?

    Near as I was able to figure, if originally purchased from AT&T, you're stuck with them for updates. Regardless of lock status. But the whole was confusing, so don't take this as gospel.

    So when att releases the update, will I still get it if I'm with cricket wireless? Thanks for all your input guys , I'm trying to save money on my phone bill

    As far as I know you must insert att sim card in order to get the update (I'm not sure the sim card must active or not)

    Originally it had to be an active SIM,, so much has changed, in such weird ways, I can't swear it has to be active, but I'd bet a small amount of money it does.

    No. AT&T disables the ability to do that until you enter a code for a work around.
