    Hi
Currently have Android for Work on Blackberry PRIV working with BES12.3. There is no access to work contacts from phone app or text app. The only work around is to have a gmail account set up on PRIV and export your corporate contacts to gmail. Then if you need to text or receive a call at least you have access to the contacts and see who is texting or calling if you have them in your address book. But now there is double the work. Update your contacts at work and you have to update the gmail address book. Whereas Blackberry 10 devices just automatically gave you access to the contacts from the texting app and phone app. Do you know if this is going to be fixed in the future?
    Thanks
    Phil

Can you possibly tell us how you got AFW setup on your Priv? At first we thought you needed Marshmallow but now see that there are 5.1 devices that support it and after seeing your post it seems like the Priv is one of those 5.1 devices. There is not too much out there on this yet. Any tips or advice on how to get it to work on the Priv would be super appreciated!

This is really the best source.

    Configuring BES12 to support Android for Work - BES12 - 12.3

    Short version:
    Setup Google service account.
    Verify your domain
    Create Project
    Create Private Key password
    Download certificate
    Enable API
    Generate enterprises token
    Manage API client access
Configure BES12 to work with Android for Work
Configure App Group to be pushed to device once activated which includes
    Blackberry Productivity Suite
    Once this is all done
    Add Activation profile to user
    Add Assigned apps to user

Create user account identical to your current email account in google service account

Have user of PRIV download BES 12 Client and activate.

If all goes well it should load the programs that you have assigned on the BES 12. These programs will have identical icons to ones already on the PRIV ie: HUB, Contacts, etc., but have a small briefcase on the icon. These will be the work apps.

That's really a watered down version of how to get it working, but if you follow the guide in the link it will walk you through it. Took me a little while but wasn't too difficult.

    Hope that helps
    Phil

Have you made any progress with this issue? Just wrapping up our initial pilot testing and this will be a definite show stopper for our users.

You need to whitelist access from the BES console. Believe there should be options for "Allow data to be shared between work and personal profiles" in the Policies and Profiles tab under email.

I already have that enabled. That particular setting falls under the 'Blackberry Productivity Suite' heading, so I believe the sharing of data between profiles only occurs in the Hub, Contacts, Calendar, etc.etc. and does not extend to the Phone app.

The very bottom of the policies:

Work Connect contacts - you can set to "Export to personal address book"
    Android for Work Contacts-capture.jpg

Work contacts will then populate and they can be accessed through the Phone --> Contacts tab

Unfortunately that only works for Secure Work Space activations, not Android for Work.
