Today I called AT&T because my signal strength was very poor. It turns out the towers my phone connects to are not Voice HD compatible (4G Voice).

The towers are actually 3G voice & 4G data, because of that my phone kept trying to connect to Voice HD tower much further away, lowering my signal.

AT&T fixed it by putting in a code on their end that forces my phone to connect to 3G voice until the towers in my area are upgraded.

    It worked.

Do you have an AT&T branded Priv, or a factory unlocked Priv with an AT&T SIM?

This I can agree with. Regardless of AT&T branded or not the signal on my Priv was no match for any of the 3 Passport versions I have. Most times I get 4 to 5 bars. With the Priv I only got 1 to 2 bars. Of course I did not have a call quality issue for a few calls I had when testing but this makes the most sense as they can do a number of things like this. Thanks for the post.

I tested my Priv against my daughter's iPhone 6 the other day:

    -110 dbm Priv (2 bars) and -112 dbm iPhone 6 (4 bars).

I had this same issue until a member here told me how to fix it.

You need to disable Enhanced 4G LTE Services. It's under settings - wireless & networks - cellular networks.

I had so many problems until I unchecked this and I haven't had a problem since.

Good to know I'm not the only one. I tested my Note 5, versus my Priv, in signal strength and the Note 5 beats it to a pulp...

That is the opposite of what I was reporting. I am saying the signal strength of my Priv is about the same as my daughter's iPhone 6 even though the Priv only shows half the bars. In other words, the bars are misleading on the Priv.
