On PC's often increasing security (at least before Windows defender) meant serious slow down.

My (hopefully unfounded) fear is that the increased security on the laggiest platform there is will increase Android lags.

This is heightened when the swipe up to bring up widget gesture involves processing and graphics power.

One reviewer saying "the lag on this thing is awful" or even "this is slower than the competition" will doom the device.

So, I'm asking both those who've had a look at the Priv already and those who know about the "engine" side of phones -

"Will there be increased likelihood of lag due to the enlayered security?"

Even on a PC specs matter. IF you have lots of background tasks (like an antivirus/firewall/etc) and/or an older computer it might slow-down. I haven't noticed any "massive" slowdowns on my PC and i have an antivirus installed. Even when I had a normal HDD, it only took a little while (1 min) at start-up for every background task to start, but since moving to a SSD, no such problems.
