This would be what engineers call an "extreme edge case". AKA, why would you want to?

Should be possible. But seeing as not all apps can be converted for the PB, I'm not 100% sure

That would be cool if you could sideload BBM to the PlayBook

The same reason people would want to sideload any Android app to the PB: to have it?

Yes if it's running on android version 2.3 (I think this is what the PB is using).
Or else no, unless the android player of the PB gets updated.

Android version might be better than BlackBerry's?

Has it been confirmed that it will be using 4.x vs 2.3? I mean, unless you're BlackBerry internal, how would you know?

Where did I miss this? Was it announced during the shareholder meeting?

Also, is there a way to convert a 4.x app to work in 2.3? If this doesn't work the only way to get BBM on the PB is installing 10.1.

It was confirmed when they announced it was going multiplatform.

BBM for Android would be native and only run on android 4.0+ so for those 2 reasons, no, we can't run the Android version of BBM on the playbook.

Wow, that would be ironic if we had to sideload an Android version of a BlackBerry app to a BlackBerry product... I admit that if probably be one of the first to do so, lol. Welcome back BBM Channels!

Probably a perfectly good reason for this it seems so obvious but I often wonder why there isn't a browser version of BBM? Why can't you just login to your account via the browser which would bring BBM to the PlayBook and only leave email to complete the bridge again for bb 10.
