I'm wondering if we'd have to re-purchase all the apps that we've already bought for playbook, once the playbook gets upgraded to BB10, or if by using the same blackberry id, we'd be able to upgrade to the BB10 version of the apps.

I would appreciate some clarification, as it would help determine if I should continue to buy apps for playbook while waiting for this BB10 update. Wouldn't really want to spend money on some app only to have to repurchase it again a few months later, you know?

I've always wondered this. But you might want to take a look at this:

it depends on the developer. when i purchased my z10 and checked my world in blackberry world i found about 20 apps that i had downloaded/purchased on my playbook that were also available on BB10 that i didn't have to re-buy.

The majority of my PB apps showed up as free downloads for the Z10. Sadly, about a half dozen have mandated a fee due to 'extensive reprogramming.' Another few have yet to show up (including an Android app).

I officially got my Z10 yesterday... and "YES", 416to604 is right... some of our purchased apps and games in PlayBook will be available in Z10 (BB10) AppsWorlds to download as already paid Apps / games, but others, you have to buy them again...

So, I would really suggest to confirm first with the developers if they will require you to pay them again once they upgraded or converted their games and apps to BB10... without confirmation from the developers, it seems like it is advisable to refrain from purchasing them until BB10 roll out to PB later this year... unless, you don't care to pay them again...

Wiped PlayBook today and signed on to bbw and all apps and games were there. Did have to reinstall them again. Didn't have to pay for purchased apps or games again

Another confirmation. When I got my Z10 on the weekend, visiting BB World showed a number of my pre-purchased apps from BB7 and PB ready to download.

I'd be surprised if BlackBerry 10 could not be optimised to fit in 1GB of RAM. If PB OS runs fine in 1GB of RAM, BB 10, which is technically very close under the hood, should be capable of as well.

After all, the latest iPads don't have more RAM, and the iPad 1 only had 256MB, the iPad 2 512MB (I know iOS is not as fully multi-tasking as BB10/PBOS but still).
