updated android runtime?
so I was wondering if anyone has heard whether RIM is working on updating the runtime on playbook's and bb10 to support later versions of android apps then 2.3. I've yet to see any information on it. I know with 2.1 they've modified it some to where you can have more than 1 android app open at the same time which is really nice. Just wondering if anyone has heard anything about it?

In the 2.1 beta, it is updated, as you say, to allow more than one app at a time (well, before more than one app could be running at a time, but only one was visible due to only one window; now each app has a separate window). That's the only change made in the beta (or only noticeable change, anyway) and RIM have made no hints saying there will be any other changes made for the official release.

I could be wrong, but it seems in the last beta the did some tweeking to notifications. previously if I was notified that someone made a mov in words with frieds when I tap the notification nothing happened, but now it launches the app.

Hmm, perhaps that is correct. None of my Android apps give me notifications on my PB so I can't share my experiences. I can confirm that on older versions, tapping notifications seemed somewhat unreliable (the app I got notifications from was Words With Friends, same as you); sometimes tapping it would do nothing, sometimes it would open the app, sometimes it would try to open the app and fail (black screen or freeze or whatever). Maybe that's improved now, I'm not sure (WWF never gives me notifications anymore on my PB, probably because I haven't run it much on my PB since getting an Android phone).
