Another update? That's cool...
I wonder what they added or changed in this one...
Could it be a patch for the exploit maybe...?There are no such things as problems...only challenges and opportunities--E.B.

@cmwdotme: Rim has released a patch for the Dingleberry Jailbreak of the playbook. I would recommend not updating....

Hahaha... did anyone think RIM was going to allow this whole Rooting thing very long?! I'm pretty sure every future OS build will have this patch built in... including the official OS2 that everyone's waiting for.

Why do I get the feeling Rim let it run to get some publicity out of it lol.
www.blackberryphoto.com coming soon - 12-06-2011, 03:03 PM #21
Well...people were all "A-HA, playbook can be rooted! RIM can't claim it's secure anymore!!"
Response from RIM was to have an update that will solve the issue, and here it is.
I can't imagine why the same people who got upset at RIM from being so insecure would now be mad at them for fixing it.
I also, do not expect the Media to follow up and "report" that RIM has fixed the vulnerability. I mean that's not what they're for. They bash and critique then turn a blind eye when the subject of their bashing addresses them and fixes it.
Or at least that how it works when it comes to their reporting about RIM. - 12-06-2011, 03:04 PM #22
you mean your suspicious by the update coming out under 24hrs after the root? id love to agree, but sometimes rim isnt the best at executing. then again, it was important for them to stop it.
love how people `wont update` jus wait till OS2 comes out, you wont be saying that then lol
Thorsten said ZED 10. deal with it

The update didn't fix my constant loop of the Bridged Messages application

I was really hoping it would. I don't want to do another security wipe.
When you hold an icon to move them around, I now see a check mark in the top left, I didn't remember that earlier. I just did a swipe from the bottom to stop the bouncing icons.
