Unknown network error, alot!
All of a sudden I get this, "unknown network error ; failure when receiving data from the peer".
Wifi playbook.

UPDATE: Last night I put a sheet of aluminum foil between my cable router and my wifi router. It is 24 hours now and not once have I had the 'unknown network error.
The two boxes sit about 18 inches apart on the same small desk. I will try to report but in one week for a long term follow up.
I hope this helps others.
UPDATE: Day two zero errors!

Try a reboot, or power off.. wait about 3 minutes then power on.. power on will take a good 2+ minutes of staring at the bubbles.

I've shut down several times throughout the course of the past three weeks this has been going on. I've had this PB since December 2011. Just the past 3 weeks this has started. My OS is updated to most recent version.

Op, your original post said 'all of a sudden' not that this has been on going... sorry I didn't fully understand your issue..
If you could let us know in steps of what you have already tried, this won't be a guessing game, and we will be able to help you better..
did you already try to clear all saved networks, restart, then set up your wifi network again? Or re-start you router?Last edited by jafobabe; 05-13-2012 at 02:27 PM.

I have the same issues, I have had it since I first got my Playbook in December. The issue has followed me through all the OS revisions as well. Error comes up in my browser no matter my location so its no hardware problem like the router.
I just live with it now, I have wiped several times with no fix. Fairly disappointed since wifi is a pretty basic feature. - 05-22-2012, 01:11 PM #8
Call rim support. I had the same issue initially and called and got a replacement. No longer have the issue
