after performing a security wipe on my playbook with the latest version 2.xxx
and reinstalling os various times the again, i never get the icons that came
installed upon purchase. im mostly concerned with the email icon and the video chat.
i would like them to reappear.

advice/guide would be greatly apprieciated

Email and Video chat are not supported or present in the OS2 beta like it said in the disclaimer where you registered the PB PIN to get the beta..

i thought i had them present before i wiped it all out.
is there any possible way to obtain some sort of shortcut to open my email?

Do you mean the shortcut that was there or app that was just a shortcut? If so log into your email and tap the star with the + and save it to the home screen.
