Question Problems Backing up Native Playbook Contacts

    Okay,

So twice now since 2.0, I've done a full backup and restore on the OS... I use it for work (BYOD), so it had a years worth of files on it, with no ability to back anything up before Desktop Manager 7 came out, and I was starting to get ghosts in the machine. Then the first OS reload didn't take...

For the most part everything worked fine. Except for some stupid reason neither restore brought back any of my email accounts, my locally-saved emails, or my locally-saved contacts! The email is no big deal, but I have to manually input all my contacts (they are saved on my locked-down work BB). I had stupidly just finished doing this (including resizing a pile of photos for all the contacts) before the first reload. And then, because I figured that it must have my mistake the first time, I stupidly finished typing them all back in a second time before realizing I had to reload the OS the second time.

So, does anyone know how to properly back-up your Playbook data so that your PIM info is restored? Or alternatively, does anyone know how to get contact data easily transferred from a work BlackBerry to a personal PlayBook?

    Any advice would be appreciated.

I've had the same problem - frustrating - I do not want to sync any contacts via Gmail or other email services, so I've taken the time to manually enter the contacts one by one into the Playbook; and there seems to be no way to backup these native contacts so I don't have to spend hours the next time after I perform a Security Swipe.. Looking for an answer.

Ditto here. Just had the flashing window on bridge messages and had to do a security wipe after backing up. When I restored no native contacts. Would love to be able to backup contacts separately without having to sync to 3rd party.

BTW an easy (but slowish) way to copy contacts without having to type is when you get an email on the native app just tap on the senders name and you get an option to save.
May God give us a horizontal Bold slider one day
