Has anyone tried to install the os for a stl100-1 on a Playbook?

I see this was done with older bb10 prereleases but nothing with a more recent OS.

I am thinking that if we are getting close to a bb10 release for Playbook then Playbook support might be baked into the stl100-1 os release since both are OMAP based.

I think the pre-release BB10 files we saw were missing radio files, which is why they were able to be tossed haphazardly onto the PB and worked with limited functionality. As it stands, no current official BB10 phone OS will work with the PlayBook. Let's have some hope that BBLive sheds some light for us.

I actually thought about installing the prerelease dev alpha software and then using the 1720 core software autoloader as it has no radio files...

Aren't you essentially killing off the dev alpha OS by installing the 1720? The programs and OS of the dev alpha could run without radio file, but 1720 can't. So you essentially get nowhere. It's like saying you want to install vista over xp so you can use the vista driver, but xp system. I really don't think it will work. Give it a try though, you never know, lol.
An analogy is like we can't run certain android apps right now because the essential libraries are missing. Neither can we nuke open the radio files and take what we need because we don't have RIM signature if we do.

The point being that dev os installs and boots completely with little functionality but there is a 1720 release sans the radio file you can add over it...it's not the complete autoloader to install fresh and I think the radio file might have prevented lawguyman from getting past the boot screen...

What is clear is that it is technically feasible to get BB10 operational on the Playbook, and quite easily delivered to all existing Playbook users, since it does not incorporate anything new like their latest devices. BBRY is just dragging their feet and not committing any resources, not even a single engineer to package what was already delivered for the Dev Alpha capable of running on the Playbook. Just look at when the last update x.1526 was dropped and if anyone who has ever reported a problem and ever received a fix from them. I have never got any corrections to the seven faults identified over the past year.

I think the lte PlayBook has a great chance of running this but I'm not able to part with the cash needed to get one. I'm downloading the files to try what I proposed.

Not really. The ui is probably not loading because the resolution is still not supported.

I saw that n4bb posting and was like, i bet its Lawguyman's video. I was surprised that it wasn't. I was even more surprised that it got past that loading screen and to a wallpaper.

BBRY just dragging their arses on the PB. The end of the day, they are just checking for the bottom line. Screw them, can't wait to get my Note 10 which when launched got ICS, then upgraded to JB. More than likely it will get some KLP before the year is up. We will still be here saying, guys it is November 10 still have one more month to go. Nonsense.
