Since I started wiping before doing an update I find I have a LOT less post update problems.

    What has YOUR experience been?

I'm not sure what you're getting at, but my Playbook stays out of the bathroom.

Sorry. It's late, I'm tired, and I just couldn't resist.

I don't usually do a security wipe before I update, and I don't really have issues by doing so. However, a security wipe always seems to make my PB work a little faster - not anything "mind-blowingly" substantial but faster nonetheless.

But to reiterate, no, I don't usually do a security wipe before I update.

Of course any update of any system is much easier, when a system is in "vanilla status". Or in other words, in a exactly defined status. Even then they have to deal with different languages, different extras for particular nations/regions etc.

Now add user settings, modifications as third party themes, apps linked in into a sort of registry, and so on and so on. This multiplies the variety of things that need to be addressed by an update. Big big work, not totally impossible, but that takes much more time and testing.

    So what do we expect?

With the exception of the Beta 2.1.0.840, I enjoy a good Wipe. Rarely have any issues beyond the normal 'bugs' that exist.
