I just received a 29mb update to 1917. This is on my LTE Playbook. Did anybody else get this?

It may have just been the regional apps, as I had security wiped this PlayBook yesterday and then debricked. After the debrick setup, it did not find any updates. This update notice just appeared sometime this afternoon.

It showed on both my 16 and 64 PlayBook. One of the previous posters said it take an extra reboot to settle in. This is true. The whole device is much faster. Decent update.

Never has for me. Link will not recognize the PB

    STL-4. 10.2.1.2947 w/ 1259 clock
Have you tried removing desktop manager? I think I had to do this when link was first released to get it to see the PlayBook.

Hey, did I read somewhere that the Blackberry News app is also ending? Or did I dream that?
Sorry bud, but Blackberry news is now no longer working.

I loved BlackBerry News on my legacy devices (and Viigo before BlackBerry bought them). I was disappointed by the PB app (never worked well), and was disappointed it never came out for BB10. I switched to using gNewsReader which uses Feedly. There is no Feedly client for the PB and the site runs like crap in the browser, but I use the site on my PCs and it syncs with the gNewsReader app on my Z10. There are actually several other nice RSS reader apps out there too.

Haven't found a viable native option. D7 Reader is still my go to for all things RSS. Pretty snappy and stable for a sideload. (Great for podcasts, too!)

Yes. Did have d7 thank to your suggestion .. but it needs a Internet connection to work all the time....even bought full app on my s2 but couldn't get the full app working side loaded on my pb....

Well the update arrived this afternoon on my PB 64g. I didn't do anything, I just got the prompt icon that it was there. Strangely, it appeared on the 32g playbook the same day it was released, but only today for the 67g. So maybe people don't have to do anything but wait and it will appear on its own?

The website no longer lists this as an update: Probably a typo, but wonder why they ventured back there anyway?

Just turned by PB on after a few weeks off, and update popped up. Shame no Android player update.

How odd. The 1895 update was listed before, along with the 1917 update. I wonder if they took it off due to an issue.

My Bridge was intact after the latest PB OS update. A few weeks ago I did a complete wipe and reinstall. I wonder if that save me from some of these niggles that others are having.

You shouldn't try installing it! I missed the LTE part. You'd probably loose LTE functionality. A better solution would be looking for the specific bar files of standard apps you want to reinstall.

Edit: I cant open it right now, but this file should include all sys bars. Just pick the ones you miss and sideload them.

I've factory reset my tablet couple times. All I have are my browser and setting Icons. No BlackBerry World, music, video apps etc..

Tried googling for a leak OS file but none of the files are available anymore. Ugh

Do a derbrick with dm or link. With the pb off and dm or link open, plug in the pb while off. Choose update and or repair. Not sure about the LTE ne but this will include all apps unlike doing a wipe.
