SMS on Bridge has been in since 2.1.0.1526 (Feb 2013), I believe. However, I think the previous Telus OS was 2.1.0.1088 (Oct 2012).

I have a question, I have a Z10 and a 64g Playbook. I can get BBM on the Playbook after the last bridge update, but I haven't had SMS texting on my Playbook since my 9800. How do I get SMS?

SMS over bridge isn't supported with with the BB10 bridge app.

The new 4G LTE PlayBook update from TELUS claims to fix that SMS deal, but like you said, might be limited to legacy devices.

Would I have to have an activate account with a Telus micro sim to download this, or could I just order any unactivated Telus micro sim off of ebay for a few bucks and be able to get this official update by plugging into the desktop manager?

Micro SIM yes, active account no, Desktop Manager unnecessary. Just hook to WiFi.

I think we should throw in that if a tablet is locked to a certain network, switching SIMS may not work. Myself and Ash have unlocked versions.

Thanks. I purchased an unlocked version on ebay. Is there a way to verify that it's unlocked?

I don't have a micro SIM right now because I am still on my trusty 9900. I ordered the LTE model mostly for the bump in CPU speed. The Telus SIM is cheap enough so I'm just going to order one.

AshDeezy, if I am able to use Fiddler2 to get the update URL after I get the SIM, I will post it.

Excellent, first person to get it is a hero! I've got my SIM on the way too.

Make sure to enable HTTPS connections in the settings before updating.

In which settings? Desktop Manager settings? Or in Fiddler2 to be able to track HTTPS?

I just received and inserted the Telus sim. However, my playbook does not recognize it. I even went into security settings/sim card to see if an unlock code needed to be entered and just saw a picture of a sim card with a red ! next to it. This is the same as what it shows when no sim card is inserted. Does this have something to do with me currently using the leaked .1753 OS?
